Guten abend Klaus. Once upon a time I could speak German without major problems. That was back when I lived in Denmark and had a lot of work to attend to around Europe (mainly in Germany, France, Holland, Belgium, Luxemburg and Italy) on behalf of the factory I was running in Denmark. But I never learned to write the language. I can read it though, and still today I can ask for a beer, massage and a "personal service" if I needed that :) .... what more does a man have to know  So yes, you did correctly see through the online translation (such things never look normal). Mi Español es un par de grados mejor que mi Aleman, pero Islandés, Faroés, Danés, Inglés, Noruego, sueco son mejor todavia. Yes, I live in Lima Perú, and absolutely love it here. I don't think I will be a regularily visiting member here, simply due to time limitations. I know for a fact I coul USE the reestablishment of the German language skills I had... but to be honest; I simply don't think it's going to happen this time around. I only wanted to chime in here and drop my thanks to you folks for discussing the Flashificator. I understand that the very basic functions of the current free version are ... well... basic :) and that is also why it is free. It can be used as a tool to get people who know nothing about FPP started easily, and encourage them to continue to use it... even without buying the commercial version of the Flashificator (even though I hope that won't be the case :) ) I trust you guys from "over there" will continue to kindly bring Flashificator news (of relevance) to the attention of other Pano people as you have already done. Blockbuster, your argument about the free version of Flashificator is totally valid, but you must remember that it does not in any way represent the upcoming version(s), which will be packed with options and functions and possibilities NO other pano software I know of come even close to. Another thing to keep in mind is that this is a project directly out of my very lightweight pocket, having to pay an individual programmer for doing the whole thing from A-Z (or A-Ö as we say it in Iceland). Have a look at the timeframe I have on record: December 4th 2007 = Joined the flashpanorama.com forums December 7th 2007 = Bought FPP for the first time December 10th 2007 = My first comment on the need for a simple GUI to be available December 14th 2007 = Announced that I had initiated the work on the GUI December 24th 2007 = First free version available Today it's only around 3 weeks since the work on the Flashificator started. Coded by a single person. Overseen by one person (me) instructed on operability, look and functions by me... and well, I have to manage my normal life as well (some day when I get the time). So it should be clear to anyone and everyone, that there are bugs. There will BE bugs, there will be wishes for more and better functions, there will be a lot to see too. This project started because of my own ill will to get into coding, and my desire to contribute with something others could benefit from, and when that happens, things will happen. I sure hope people are glad that something is moving in the right direction.... and I also agree that much more will have to be done... and I will do everything in my power to make things better. The free version of the Flashificator will never be the perfect tool to do all the work... not even close to it, but that's why there will be the full commercial version, which I truly hope to make into everyone's favorite tool. I make panoramas, and want the workflow to be as easy as possible, and that will be the guiding light of the project. All critique is well deserved if well meant :) I have no problem having people telling me that the Flashificator sucks because it can't install on a Mac..... simply because it's TRUE. That particular issue is to be solved once and for all. The free version doesn't support insertion of hotspots or parameters or other things, well, it's because it's only a small glimpse of the future full version. Even if limited, it is quick and easy to handle right? That is how it should be. Full version will be sold, because I am emptying my pockets on the project... my lovely wife is already worried this might get too expensive before it's over. It could... if it's not done well and doesn't live upto anyone's expectations. But if it will be everyone's favorite tool for panowork, my wife will not have to worry. Sorry for the long rant, but this is probably the only long post I will have here... not because I don't like the place (actually interesting info to be found here) but because I haven't got the time for more daily forums. Take care everyone. Trausti Hraunfjord

Hallo Trausti

Pre-Beta version of Flashificator Full version. Click the "Open" button, and the video will fill your screen in viewable quality. Not good, but much better than Youtube. Here's the link: http://flashificator.com/1/ThisIs-A-Demo/ThisIs-A-Demo.html And here is a link to a good quality FLV, where details can be seen (you need a flv player on your puter to view it) http://flashificator.com/1/ThisIs-A-Demo/FullQuaity.flv (6.16 mb) In this version there are no hotspots available (we are still working on those), and not even the "simple operation" is included. There is still a lot of work to be done with the GUI, but it's getting there. Hopefully you find this interesting.

Free version 0.51 is now available for download over at http://flashificator.com It's 260.12 kb in size, compared to the previous version's 123.43 kb. Added to the functionality is the filesystem 0-5 and 1-6 in cubefaces (should have been working, but that part of the code was simply never made). And added simplicity when selcting files has also been implemented. When selecting cube faces, it is now enough to select ONE of the six files, and the others will be automatically selected (given they are in the same folder as the selected one). If a file or files are missing, or mis-spelled, it will be announced to the user, preventing a project with 5 or fewer files to be made (and resulting in loading failed error), as the below screenshot demonstrates: When this version of Flashificator is downloaded and installed, it will automatically look for Adobe AIR on the system. If Adobe AIR is not installed, it will automatically download and install it. Therefore there is no need for downloading/installing AIR separately. Hopefully this will make you's happy. Should you encounter any errors, please do not hesitate to report back. Ps. Flashifictor is STILL not working on Mac.

Only two of six cubefaces are converted and to be seen (front and up).

Only two of six cubefaces are converted and to be seen (front and up).
How big were the cube faces? The only way I have been able to get missing cube faces, is if I reach the Flash limit (set by Adobe) Following are resolution tests that failed in Flashificator, except for the last one, which is on the limit. 8191 x 8191 pixels 2 of 6 images load. 7000 x 7000 pixels 4 of 6 images load. 6700 x 6700 pixels 4 of 6 images load. 6650 x 6650 pixels 5 of 6 images load. 6603 x 6603 pixels 5 of 6 images load. 6602 x 6602 pixels 6 of 6 images load. If your images are 6602 x 6602 pixels or smaller, there should be no problem having all of them to display correctly. Since Flashificator only uses the resources from FPP, and FPP is limited by Flash, the culprit should be Adobe. Feel free to mail me your project (in zip or rar file) if your images are smaller than 6602 x 6602 and you can't get them to work, and I will have a look at what could be causing this. Thank you in advance, Trausti My mail as follows: insope ((>at<)) insope.com

Hi Trausti,

the cubes were 6522x6522,

even with 5000x5000 I missed the bottom cube.

A good result with all cubes I got with 4000x4000.

Sometimes the folder "My Panoramas" collapsed when I klicked the OK-Button.

My suggestions:

- Adding a possibility: Open the output folder
- adding templates
- possibility to change the background-colour
- drag and drop-functionality to import the cubes
- option of handling all different filenames, such as -bottom, _66

Thank you!

That sounds ....well... plausible. When I was trying to find the maximum acceptable size of the cube faces, I could get for instance 4 faces showing with (let me just use examples that are fictional... long time since I tested)... 6700x6700 pixels, and 5 faces with 6699x6699 pixels, only to find the next time I opened that particular project up in the browser, that only 3 faces showed up. This is the Adobe Flash limitation kicking in, and not anything that either FPP or the Flashificator can do much about. I have also considered the possibility that a combination of the Flash limit in pixel length and a computer's setup (low memory or slow CPU) might rock the results a little... but I don't think so. As informed by Adobe: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flash…leasenotes.html Large Bitmap Support — Flash Player 10 now provides the ability to manipulate large bitmaps up to 16,777,216 pixels (4096 by 4096) with a maximum length of 8191 pixels per side. Maybe there is something in that calculation I am missing out on... but in any case it is a LIMITATION Adobe put in effect last December, even though they make it sound as if it's an improvement. Why the panorama folder "collapses"... well... quite honestly... I don't know why. Can you describe what happened a little better? I want people to have a good and easy time with the Flashificator, so I am interested in EVERYTHING that can prevent problems and bottlenecks. Your suggestions. Well... first of all... the free version is, and will continue to be a very limited application... so please do not expect too many things from it. It's intention is to make people realize how easily things can be done with the full version.... and it is also a good tool to start with for newbies. The Full version will have everything -*-so to speak-*- available. Templates will be made available over time.... the publicly available plugins provided by Denis and others (if I get permission from the creators) will be built-into the Full version of the Flashificator, making it very easy for people to operate the plugins. The background colour you speak of... is that the horrific green colour? If that's the case, it is already been done in the full version... you can choose between many different background loader colours with a single click of the mouse. Drag and drop functionality for cubes/mov's/equi's is already on the "to do" list. Different filenames.... Yes, by all means. The currently supported filenames in Flashificator, are the following: "_f_r_b_l_u_d" "_0_1_2_3_4_5" "_1_2_3_4_5_6" Those are the one's originally supported by FPP, but if you and other users can bring up the need for different systems, such as "_left _right" etc, then by all means let me know which software outputs such files and what all the files are named. After that we can make Flashificator handle them as well. I actually asked for such inputs in December, but had no replies. I'm glad that you bring this up here. MAYBE... a future release of the free version of the Flashificator will contain all functionalities of the program for people to play with, while nothing could be saved EXCEPT the already working parts in the free version. That way people could play with hotspots, music, video, tour etc.... and get convinced that buying the full version was the right thing to do. Don't make me promise such a version quite yet... but I think it might be beneficial for both me AND the users. As always, I encourage anyone and everyone to come with suggestions of improvements and reports of failures. If you still have the project you couldn't have to show all faces nearby, you are welcome to mail it to me... or upload it and direct me to the link, so that I can test it on my machines and see if the problem can be recreated. Would it be ok if I copy this conversation and post it over at the FPP forums (in the Flashificator thread). I'm sure that those who are interested in info regarding Flashificator would be glad to read it there as well. Many thanks for taking the time to address these issues. Best regards and best of luck, Trausti

Congrats, Trausti !
Hurra, hurra, finally you got it !!
I know, this was a hard piece of work  (I followed the development notes via FPP and Flashificator Forum).
Wish you great success and hope, things will go a bit more "tranquilo" in the future (for your family too).
